Winter Activities

Pack your thermos, put on your snow gear and head out into the Columbia River Valley's magical winter wonderland!

There's no better way to connect with the intense beauty of a Canadian winter than by cross-country skiing, snowshoeing or tobogganing. Whether you bring cross-country skis or snow-shoes, our self-guided trail system is a great way to experience the expanse of the Columbia Wetlands and Valley.  During the winter, wetlands water levels are low, giving safe access to terrain that is underwater in the spring and summer.  Fill your lungs with fresh air and soak in the serenity!

Add shrieks of joy to any day on the best tobogganing hill in these parts! With a rope tow to easily get back to the top, it is the perfect place for hours of family fun.

For those bringing snowmobiles, Silent Pass awaits!  Widely recognized as one of the premier areas to cut loose, head out and enjoy true freedom!  (Please remember that our circular drive is designed to handle trailers and there is plenty of parking).

For downhill skiers and boarders, Kicking Horse Mountain Resort is only a 30 minute drive.  With great conditions and challenging slopes, is there a better place to feel the rush?
Whatever you choose, winter-time at The Columbia Wetlands Outpost will leave a smile on your face and cheer in your heart.
